Man dies after his motorcycle skids in Tampines accident

SINGAPORE – A 54-year-old motorcyclist died after slipping on a road in Tampines on October 26.

When contacted, police and the Singapore Civil Defense Force said they were alerted to the accident, which occurred on Tampines Road towards Tampines Industrial Avenue 4 at around 3.50pm.

The police determined that the motorcycle driver, who was thought to have thrown himself, died at the scene by medical teams.

In the video showing the aftermath of the accident, a blue tent can be seen in the grassy area on the side of the road next to the far right lane. An overturned motorcycle lies a few meters away.

Investigations continue.

According to the figures published by the police, half of all deaths in traffic accidents in 2023 were motorcyclists and rear-end drivers, and 68 people lost their lives.

That year, 4,290 motorcycle and saddle riders were injured in accidents.
