Nikki Haley quotes Morning Joe having an ulterior motive for going to Mar-a-Lago

The duo, who have publicly condemned Trump for years, stated that they decided to meet with him to “restart communication” after criticizing Trump for a long time. “Joe and I realized it was time to do something different, and that starts with not just talking about Donald Trump, but talking to him,” Brzezinski said.

Haley was unconvinced and responded on X (formerly Twitter): “Let’s be clear, Joe and Mika didn’t suddenly see the light, they saw their ratings. They realized they needed Trump to survive.” Trump’s election victory greatly affected MSNBC’s ratings, which were reported to have dropped by 53 percent in prime time following his victory.

In the past, Morning Joe has often celebrated Haley, especially during the presidential campaign, but she has also often been criticized by the hosts. Brzezinski had previously chided Haley for not speaking out more forcefully against Trump during the campaign. “That says a lot, Nikki,” Brzezinski said, referring to Haley’s refusal to comment on a defamation and sexual assault lawsuit involving Trump.
