Charges against Hamilton Co.’s chief probation officer for Bengals game incident dismissed

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Charges against Hamilton County Chief Probation Officer Jerry Campbell were dismissed in court Tuesday.

62-year-old Jerry and his son Christopher Campbell, Accused of assaulting 63-year-old man Court records show a game between the Cincinnati Bengals and Buffalo Bills in 2023.

The officer was charged with misdemeanor assault and disorderly conduct.

According to court documents, Jerry and his son paid restitution to the victim. It is not clear how much was paid.

The victim testified in court on Tuesday and is aware the charges have been dismissed.

Christopher pleaded guilty to one count of disorderly conduct and was fined $200 in court costs. The assault charge against him was also rejected.

There will be no prison sentence for the two men.

Interim Court Administrator Thomas O. Beridon previously told FOX19 NOW that Jerry was placed on administrative leave during the case.

It is unknown if he is currently a parole officer in Hamilton County.
