Former mayor and BRS leader’s husband attacked by autorickshaw driver over land dispute in Nizamabad – Telangana News

Dandu Chandrasekhar, husband of former Mayor and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Dandu Neethu Kiran, was brutally attacked by an autorickshaw driver in Telangana’s Nizamabad on Monday. The attack, which occurred near the office of a local company, caused serious head injuries to Chandrasekhar. He was taken to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Nizamabad Police identified the attacker as autorickshaw driver Shaik Rasool, who attacked Chandrasekhar after a heated argument over a land dispute. A case has been registered against Rasool and authorities are actively investigating the matter.

In a video statement following the attack, Rasool admitted to the attack, claiming that his actions were motivated by frustration over the land issue. He accused Chandrasekhar of encroaching on his property and demanded compensation of Rs 2 lakh. Rasool also alleged that Gopal, a close associate of Chandrasekhar, was part of a gang involved in land grabbing.

“My lands have been under illegal occupation for three years. Even though I repeatedly requested that it be published, I received threats. Today, when I went to Chandrasekhar to solve the problem, I was insulted. I responded with a moment of anger. I was fearing for my life if I didn’t take action,” Rasool explained in the video description.

Rasool, who described himself as a Congress supporter, appealed to the party leadership to intervene and help him get back his land. Further investigations into the attack and the underlying land dispute are ongoing.
