1 person arrested for theft and assault in Lexington

LEXINGTON, Ky. (LEX 18) — A person was arrested on burglary and assault charges after an incident in Lexington on Tuesday afternoon, according to the Lexington Police Department.

Justin Clark, 31, was arrested after police responded to a home in the 100 block of East Fifth Avenue for a burglary at around 12:52 p.m., the department said in a statement.

Police say the suspect, Clark, entered the home without permission before fleeing.

A short time later, police were called to another home, this time in the 100 block of DeWeese Street, for a disturbance in which Clark allegedly attacked two people inside, the statement said.

Clark was later located on DeWeese Street and arrested with the assistance of the Fayette County Sheriff’s office, the release states.

Clark was charged with first-degree burglary, fourth-degree assault, second-degree assault, first-degree and first-degree possession of methamphetamine, resisting arrest and unrelated warrants, police said.
