Suspect in fatal stabbing outside Detroit liquor store appears in court

DETROIT (FOX 2)A suspect appeared in court after a fatal stabbing outside a liquor store in October was caught on camera.

Video from Thursday’s preliminary examination showed an altercation between defendant Rolando Huntley and victim Ronald Howard on Oct. 5 in front of Diane’s Liquor Store on Schaeffer on the city’s west side.

“Did you see Ronald get stabbed?” someone asked.

Witness William Sanders replied, “Yes.”

He was then asked where Ronald was stabbed.

“It was on the back of his neck, on the side of his stomach, and that’s where my hands were,” he said. “I didn’t know he was bleeding from his groin area.”

A fight broke out in the car during the marijuana sale due to an argument about who had the table. A video taken from inside the vehicle was played during the exam.

“This is the gun that Rolando gave Shamar,” Sanders said. “That’s how it started, it was on a table.”

By the way, there was so much more about this table.

“Rondo said, excuse my French, but this is my MF table. Ron said no, this is my MF table,” Sanders said.

Ultimately, the judge convicted Rolando Huntley of first-degree premeditated murder.

No hearing date has been set.
