The Beast of Avignon’s daughter screams ‘I’m going to die like a dog’ after her rapist says he never molested her and ‘doesn’t remember’ drugging her and taking obscene photos

The daughter of the Beast of Avignon screamed “I’m going to die like a dog” after she said her rapist had never abused her, in the hearing that shocked the world.

Dominique Pelicot admitted giving powerful sedatives to his wife of 50 years, Gisele, and inviting dozens of strangers he met online to rape her.

But this morning he continued to deny drugging his daughter Caroline when she was 20, posing her half-naked in her underwear in bed and taking photos of her that were found years later on his computer.

In his final statement, the 71-year-old said: ‘I would like to look into my daughter’s eyes and tell her that I did nothing.’

However, his daughter Caroline Darian shouted angrily: ‘I will never see you again! You will die alone like a dog!’

Under questioning by his lawyer, Maître Zavarro, Pelicot claimed that he had not molested his daughter.

He said: ‘Even if he doesn’t love me anymore I know what I did and what I didn’t do.

‘Telling me to die like a dog doesn’t change my feelings for him.’

But he added: ‘If I took photos of Caroline drugged and half-naked, I don’t remember taking them.’

Pelicot admitted in court that he was a sex addict and described the practice of drugging women as ‘s***’.

The prime suspect completed his final statement this morning.

Madam Pelicot’s lawyers will then make closing statements.

The trial of Dominique Pelicot and 50 other defendants, which Caroline Darian described as France’s ‘worst sex case of the last 20 years’, is expected to conclude at the end of December.
