Fond du Lac woman accused of killing West Bend woman in bad drug deal to stand trial

The woman who killed a West Bend woman during a drug deal gone bad in Fond du Lac will go to trial for her crime.

Annaka Trudell, 20, was in Fond du Lac County Circuit Court on Monday, Nov. 18, 2024, for a plea hearing in the Feb. 13 stabbing of Ashley Calo in the Anytime Fitness parking lot near the intersection of north Macy’s and west Follett Street. .

Trudell and 21-year-old Dawson Miller hatched a plan to make a drug deal with Calo in the parking lot, but did not pay him. Miller allegedly told Trudell to keep a knife with him in case the robbery went bad.

After an argument in which Trudell stabbed Calo several times, Trudell ran to the car where Miller was waiting and the two fled. Calo then got into his car and attempted to drive away, but he collapsed from his injuries and his car ended up in some bushes behind a north Main Street business, where officers found him unconscious. He was taken to the hospital where he was
It was announced that he passed away.

Trudell’s trial will begin May 19.

Miller is charged with multiple felonies, including felony murder, as an accessory to the crime of helping organize the robbery and helping Trudell hide. His hearing will be held on September 15.
