Thirteen-year-old teenager charged with burglaries in Rockville with two teenage accomplices

ROCKVILLE, MD — A 13-year-old boy was arrested and charged in connection with two commercial burglaries allegedly committed with an 11-year-old boy and a 12-year-old boy early Tuesday morning, according to Montgomery County police.

Around 1 a.m. on Nov. 19, District 1 officers responded to Superior Auto Service in the 12200 block of Wilkins Avenue for a reported theft. Investigators determined that three young men broke into the business, stole goods and fled the scene.

While the police were still investigating the scene, a second theft was reported at RMA Transportation located nearby. Police said the teens entered the building, which was closed, but encountered employees who were still inside. The teenagers ran away, but police later found them in the area with stolen items in their possession.

The 11- and 12-year-olds were released to their guardians, while the 13-year-old was turned over to a guardian after being charged with two counts of second-degree burglary and conspiracy.

Police confirmed that no injuries were reported during the incidents and that the investigation is ongoing.
