While discussing his limited online presence, Chappell, who made clear his own difficulties adjusting to newfound fame, defended Roan. “I hope people don’t give him a hard time,” Cyrus said. “It’s probably really hard to get into this business with phones and Instagram. This wasn’t always a part of my life, and I’m not part of it now. “I don’t even have an Instagram password.”

He reflected on the impact being a child star had on his relationships. “For a while, I thought it was preventing me from connecting with people,” he said.

As for whether she can easily relate to others, Cyrus explained: “I don’t even know how to answer that because as a human being, I feel like, yeah, I can connect with people and that’s how I feel.” I am everyone’s friend. But as I’ve grown up, sometimes people make it difficult. “I can let go of my personality very easily, but it’s hard for other people to erase that part of you.”

The singer also briefly mentioned her partner, 26-year-old Morando. “He really looks at life differently than I do,” he said. “He grew up with a laptop. I had a desktop computer that I shared with my siblings. …Honestly raised our dog on Reddit. And I said, ‘Are you sure we should do this? He said: “He’s on Reddit saying blah blah blah.” More broadly, he added: “He’s a lot like me. We don’t take life too seriously.”
