2 people died and 1 person was injured in an explosion in a house in Ohio; The cause is still being investigated

BETHEL, Ohio – Two people died and one person was injured in an explosion at a house in Ohio on Tuesday. The explosion sent debris flying throughout the neighborhood.

It is not yet known what caused the explosion that occurred shortly before 9 a.m. in Bethel and set the house on fire. Some citizens said the explosion shook their homes and caused minor damage.

Bethel Tate Fire Chief Christopher Cooper said a man and a woman died in the explosion. Another man also suffered burns and was treated at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, he said.

The names of the three people were not released and it was not immediately clear whether any of them lived at the home.

The Ohio State Fire Marshal will lead the investigation into the explosion. Bethel is a village in Tate Township in southwestern Ohio.
