‘I will continue to play my game’

‘I will continue to play my game’

With Cam Thomas ruled out just before the start of last night’s contest, the Brooklyn Nets suddenly had the heart of their offense beating and needed someone to take control.

In the middle of the game, Brooklyn was shaking. Trailing by as many as 17 points in the Nets’ come-from-behind victory over the Charlotte Hornets, someone needed to step up.

As a result, Cam Johnson played his best game this season.

“Especially as a shooter, rhythm is really important,” Johnson said. Andrew Crane From the New York Post. “It’s so hard to miss time and come back and think everything will be okay. But no matter what happens, no matter what challenges are faced, I will continue to play my game and try to get some wins on the board for us.”

His performance of 34 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists resulted in a dramatic 116-115 victory, breaking Brooklyn’s three-game streak.

“Honestly, he’s just playing basketball,” Trendon Watford said of Johnson’s recent play. “I’m not surprised at all. Last year was last year. He obviously heard all the noise and took it with a grain of salt and came back. And now he’s doing what we know CJ can do.”

Amid constant trade rumors, Johnson has yet to let outside noise affect his play. The 28-year-old player reflected his performance when he joined the Nets more than his performance last year in the 15 matches he played.

Whatever the future holds for the 11th overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, Brooklyn fans can rest assured that Johnson will give them his all tonight.

The Nets will continue NBA Cup play against the Philadelphia 76ers this Friday at 7 p.m.
