A local man was sent to Fla. for a stolen license plate. received the toll bill

BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) — A Boardman man told police he received a toll bill from Florida after his license plate camera took a photo of his license plate on another vehicle.

The man said that he removed the personal license plate of the vehicle he sold in September and put it in his garage for safekeeping, but the same license plate was seen on a toll booth camera in Florida on October 17.

The man received a letter from the Florida Department of Transportation stating that the driver with that plate had not paid his toll. When the man received the letter, he went to his garage, checked the license plate and said it was missing. He thinks someone took him.

Sunpass Customer Service in Florida advised the man to report to the police and the license plate was entered as stolen.

The man said he still had the rear license plate of the car being sold, which he believed was the front plate stolen from his garage.
