Four people arrested after grocery store theft in Nevada

NEVADA COUNTY, Calif. (KOLO) – Four people have been arrested in connection with the robbery of a convenience store in Nevada County.

The Sierra County Sheriff’s Office said in the early morning hours Monday, a deputy on routine patrol in the area of ​​Combie Road and Highway 49 noticed people acting unusually outside a convenience store.

The deputy began watching them and noticed someone was a lookout. A short time later, a witness reported that the store had been robbed. As the four fled the scene, the officer followed and conducted a traffic stop.

An investigation revealed a large amount of presumed stolen property, including new, unopened cosmetics, additional unopened cosmetics, checks not addressed to any of the four suspects, and open mail, approximately 50 credit cards, debit cards, driver’s licenses, and other miscellaneous cards. . It matched the names of those found inside and was suspected to be methamphetamine.

Later, the following people were detained:

  • Leitica Monique Webber-Gonzales, of Elk Grove, is charged with identity theft, possession of an illegal check and conspiracy to commit a crime
  • Shawn Richard Paul Webber of Colfax is charged with identity theft, possession of an illegal check, conspiracy to commit a crime and parole violation
  • Christine Haralampieva of Lincoln is charged with theft and conspiracy to commit a crime
  • Roger Andrew Hazen of Sacramento is charged with theft, conspiracy to commit a crime and a warrant for failure to appear.
