Muncy woman accused of destroying evidence by state police | News, Sports, Jobs

Following an incident in late September, Nikki Burrows, 42, of 110 Pepper St., Muncy, was arrested on misdemeanor charges of destroying evidence and tampering with physical evidence, according to state police.

On Sept. 27, state police were looking for surveillance video that could lead them to possible suspects in two cases, one involving a stolen car and the other involving an attempted burglary at a gun store on John Brady Drive in the Muncy area.

Investigators saw a Ring video surveillance system outside Burrows’ home and believed it might contain video that could assist them in investigations. Police said the vehicle was stolen from one of Burrow’s neighbors.

Interviewed by a criminal investigator on September 28 about the possibility of obtaining and viewing any surveillance video that might include footage recorded outside his home on September 27, Burrows claimed that such footage would not have been available, as his teenage daughter reportedly said. “closed” video system that night, according to court documents.

However, during the investigation, police alleged that Burrows lied in his statements and deleted the surveillance video from his Ring system after a conversation with the criminal investigator.

Appearing before District Judge Kirsten Gardner, Burrows waived his preliminary hearing last week and was released on $25,000 bail.

Based on other evidence, state police arrested a Williamsport man allegedly involved in both the carjacking and attempted burglary.

1002 Baldwin St. Khanif Carter, 18, waived his preliminary hearing on his charges and remains behind bars at the Lycoming County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bail.
