Fans of the ITV soap are losing sleep over a detail in Joel’s murder. We know that the bad guy was killed on September 27 and his body was later found in a river.

Some viewers believed Joel was wrapped in a body bag when he was found, but it turned out it was just a “trick of the light”. This Morning resident ‘Queen of Soaps’ Sharon Marshall clarified the issue.

“Okay, to answer that…Joel wasn’t in a body bag!” Sharon shared a post on Twitter/X, including a photo of the frame in question.

“He was face down, his jacket was wet and it was a trick of the lights that it looked like a rock’s head… Joel is dead. No extra twists going to happen x,” he added.

Some fans were relieved to get expert advice on the matter, with one person noting: “Thanks Sharon, this has been bugging me for years. I can sleep at night now.”

“Oh thanks Sharon – I always noticed the stone but the piece that was supposed to be her jacket made me think of the body bag. At least we know now! x,” another fan commented.

The truth about Joel’s murder came out last week. In a flashback, viewers learned that Lauren Bolton killed the villain with a rock after he tried to strangle her boyfriend Max Turner, and Max went to jail after he fell.

However, Lauren had second thoughts because she was worried about Max’s health in prison. The teenager then notified Shona Platt, who immediately went to David.

Upon reporting to the police, Lauren brought in for questioning and told DC Kit Green that he was responsible for delivering the fatal blow to Joel.
