Comedian actor Vir Das has a request: Please do not propose to your girlfriends at his shows! Vir shared a humorous note on Instagram asking attendees to save their romantic gestures for another occasion. In his signature humorous style, he asked, “Can I propose to my daughter on your show?” He explained that he received countless messages asking: His answer? “Absolutely not.”

“Hello guys. I posted about someone getting an offer at my screening. This happened before the show started. I had no idea. Then ‘Can I propose to my daughter on your show?’ Nearly 100 DMs came saying: Short answer; “Absolutely not,” he wrote.

Vir Das humorously explained that he would love to help but did not want to put the girl in a stressful situation. “I would love to help. I’m sure you’re madly in love. I’m sure he will agree. But I can’t put a girl under that kind of pressure, and besides, if she says no… I’ll be so embarrassed for you. I would feel like we were both rejected. And honestly, I’ve been pretty impressed by the rejection of women for about six lifetimes 🙂 That’s why I’m a comedian.”

“So it’s the best. “But like… buy a ring, write something, kneel down and please patao your own wife,” he concluded.

As soon as the post went viral, fans couldn’t stop laughing. “Waiting for this to happen in the next sitcom,” one Instagram user wrote. Another wrote: “Brother already won when she used Taylor’s version.”

Work-wise, Vir Das was last seen in the TV series Call Me Bae starring Ananya Panday. He plays the role of prominent journalist Satyajeet Sen. Apart from these, the series also stars Gurfateh Pirzada, Varun Sood, Vihaan Samat and Muskkaan Jaferi. The show is currently streaming on Prime Video. Vir Das will later host the International Emmy Awards ceremony in New York.
