Meanwhile, the mother of an eight-week-old girl said the news had really hit both her and her partner.

“We were heartbroken when we found out,” he said.

Another memorial left at the scene read: “Rest in peace, Baby A. You are in our hearts.”

Forensic investigators continued to search the area on Thursday.

Detectives have not yet determined the baby’s identity or age.

They also hope the autopsy, which could take up to two days, will help reveal Baby A’s gender, ethnicity and how long she had been in the field.
