Statutory rape charges filed against former Nashville high school coach

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WSMV) – A former Nashville high school coach has been arrested and charged, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department.

Police say 32-year-old Tyler Forte surrendered to officers Wednesday evening after an arrest warrant was issued charging him with aggravated statutory rape.

Forte is accused of having sexual intercourse on multiple occasions four years ago with a 17-year-old Donelson Christian Academy student whom he previously coached. Police said there was an 11-year age difference between the two.

Police began investigating in September after the now-adult victim came forward.

“Forte was booked into the Downtown Detention Center and was released on $10,000 bail,” MNPD said.
