Teenagers arrested over three Hull playground fires

A 16-year-old boy has been arrested following three suspected arson attacks at park playgrounds in Hull.

Humberside Police launched an investigation following incidents at Alderman Kneeshaw Park and Bellfield Avenue on Sunday. Another incident was detected in East Park on Wednesday.

Officers later said they reviewed CCTV footage after playground equipment was badly damaged.

Humberside Fire and Rescue said no injuries were reported.

On Facebook, the Love Parks Hull page, run by Hull City Council, said the playground in East Park would be closed until late Friday afternoon due to “essential removal of a damaged unit which has been demolished”.

Humberside Police are appealing for anyone with information about the incidents to contact them on 101.
