Houston Rockets: Trade or Develop?

Houston Rockets: Trade or Develop?

Kelly IkoThe Rockets are not interested in trading Giannis Antetokounmpo, a reporter for The Athletic confirmed.

ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst said Amen Thompson and Tari Eason are now untouchable and cannot be traded.

“Terror Twins” fits Ime Udoka’s nature perfectly. Both players not only want to win, like that winners. They will go out there, put their bodies on the line and do whatever it takes to secure victory. Aggressive on offense and hostile on defense, these players are perfect for Udoka’s “win now, no bs” coaching.

Just before the start of the season, Jalen Yeşil and Alperen Şengün signed extensions. Green started this season fast and Sengun has started to return to his old tempo recently. Although both contracts are team-friendly, the extensions are signs of keeping this group together.

Eason and Jabari Smith Jr. He will begin contract extension talks this summer. If both players remain on the team, it’s another sign that Houston wants to continue growing and improving its “Core Seven.” Smith Jr. He had a strong performance against the Indiana Pacers last night, and keeping both players on the team will help the team grow together in the future.

Thompson and Cam Whitmore are very important names for Houston on the bench. Even though Whitmore hasn’t played very well this season, he has shown great potential. He runs the field very quickly and knows how to get to his place. The energy he brings on the court, whether it’s his powerful dunks or big threes while shooting well, is something the Rockets should keep him around. Thompson is 5-foot-11 and can play anywhere from 1-5. His IQ on the field is outstanding, and the aggression he brings from turning big defensive stops into offense has been a driving force for Houston this season. It makes sense why he was included as untouchable.

Reed Sheppard is still a rookie, so there’s still plenty of time for him to improve and become comfortable as an NBA player. He hasn’t shown the same comfort and fluidity yet as in Summer League, but he has shown what he can do. Sheppard shot well and made big shots when needed. His ability to go out and shoot when necessary was very strong. Even though he shoots well, he needs to shoot more. There were times when he looked good and passed them up, which is something the guard will improve on.

The Rockets must continue to grow and develop the “Core Seven.” It wouldn’t make sense to trade pieces that could win championships together in the coming years. Developing these players together not only creates a bond between them off the field, but also instills in them the winning culture they all need to learn together.
