Maryland man could face life in prison for attempted murder in 2023 stabbing: Police

According to officials, on Thursday in St. A man has been found guilty of attempted first-degree murder following a verdict in St. Mary’s County court.

John Otha Dickens Jr., 35, of Lexington Park, Maryland, was involved in a domestic violence stabbing on Feb. 13, 2023, police said.

According to officials, St. A Mary’s County jury found Dickens responsible for the attempted murder.

State prosecutor Jaymi Sterling said the verdict reflected the courage of a survivor of domestic violence. Authorities said Dickens will be held without bail until his sentencing hearing, where he faces a maximum sentence of life in prison.
