There is 1 update to this story

Last year a woman in Bristol denied killing a man.

Christina Howell, 37, of Easton, was arrested on Friday, September 29, 2023, the day Hubert “Isaac” Brown was attacked and killed.

Mr Brown, 61, from Easton, died from stab wounds after being attacked in St Paul’s Grosvenor Road.
Howell appeared in court on Monday, October 2, 2023, charged with murder, and was taken into custody. Since then, he has been detained in a high-security hospital pending psychiatric reports on his fitness to stand trial.

A not guilty plea was entered at a hearing at Bristol Crown Court on Friday, November 22. Howell was remanded in custody until his next hearing on Friday, December 20, and a hearing in February 2025.

Specially trained family liaison officers continue to support Isaac’s family throughout the court process.

Detective Constable Nadine Partridge said: “This case has inevitably been adjourned due to the defendant’s failing mental health and his inability to instruct his defense lawyers in line with his rights to a fair trial.

“The delay understandably had a negative impact on Isaac’s family. They had to celebrate the anniversary of his death and his 62nd birthday, and the wait continues. “I would like to thank them for their continued support of the investigation team and once again offer our wholehearted condolences on their loss.”
