Motorcyclist killed in crash at I-25 and Garden of the Gods Road has been identified

COLORADO SPRINGS — A motorcyclist killed in a crash at I-25 and West Garden of the Gods Road earlier this month has been identified.

According to the El Paso County Coroner’s Office, that person was 54-year-old Spencer Cooreman.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD), this is the 46th traffic accident in the city this year. They say there were 45 traffic deaths this time last year.

Police say a motorcyclist is dead after a crash at Garden of the Gods and I-25 on Sunday, Nov. 3.

This was the second fatal accident involving a motorcycle that day. Another driver died in an accident Southeast of Colorado Springs.

That crash closed the eastbound lanes of West Garden of the Gods, just west of I-25, for several hours that day, police said. The closure began around 3 p.m., and the lanes were fully reopened around 8 p.m.

CSPD, CSFD and AMR responded to the scene, which included the motorcyclist, later identified as Cooreman, and a vehicle. Cooreman was transported to a local hospital and police said he died en route from his injuries.
