39 TGSP Activists Suspended for Indiscipline

Hyderabad: Taking seriously the protests organized by some TG Special Police (TGSP) personnel, the police ordered the suspension of at least 39 police chiefs and police officers serving in various battalions on Sunday for violating the rules.

The police said that in order to maintain discipline and integrity within the TGSP, the staff members who committed misconduct were suspended from duty for conduct unbecoming of public servants, including inciting others to agitation.

The suspended personnel include six from 3rd Battalion of Ibrahimpatnam, six from 4th Battalion at Mamnoor, six from 5th Battalion of Chalvai, six from 6th Battalion of Kothagudem, 12th Battalion of Anneparthy and five personnel each from Mancherial’s 13th Battalion and 6 personnel. 17th Battalion in Sircilla.

It was claimed that the dismissed personnel caused unrest within the battalion and negatively affected morale and operational efficiency. Officials stated that such actions not only undermine the disciplinary framework but also tarnish the image of the uniformed force dedicated to maintaining peace and security.

Senior officials were instructed to closely monitor battalion activities and ensure a positive working environment. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against staff found to have violated the code of conduct.

Hours after the suspension orders were issued, protests emerged in Nalgonda’s 12th Battalion and 4th Battalion in Mamnoor, Warangal, demanding immediate withdrawal of the orders.

Condemning the suspension of police personnel, BRS leader Dr. Dasoju Sravan called it “a clear act of oppression and an attack on their dignity and constitutional rights”. “The inhumane working conditions imposed on these personnel, forcing them to work like laborers, keep them away from their families for long periods of time and deprive them of basic leave.”
