Florence Wanjiku, 33, is recovering at Optimum Hospital in Nakuru after her estranged lover. priest Elias Njau allegedly stabbed her multiple times on Thursday, November 21, before escaping.

The pastor, affiliated with the Church of Jesus Compassion Ministry, is said to have carried out the attack on their home in Rongai, Nakuru.

Speaking to KTN from his hospital bed, Wanjiku said he met Njau at an entertainment venue early on Thursday to discuss business and personal matters.

“We met and the conversation went smoothly. We discussed business matters and other matters that were a little personal. We came to an agreement and then I moved towards the house. He followed me home and when I came to the door, he came to attack me,” said Wanjiku bitterly.

Recalling the sad incident, the woman said that she tried to drive away before Njau could reach her, but she accidentally crashed into her car, allowing Njau to catch up with her.

Wanjiku said Njau dragged her out of the car before stabbing her in the head, hands and legs.

“He attacked me, so I tried to drive away. Unfortunately, I hit his car from behind. I locked the door, but the window was open. He closed his car and took the keys. He continued to hit me. He pulled me out by pulling my head. Then I tried to protect myself with my hands,” he said with pain.

Wanjiku was rescued by her neighbors who rushed to the scene and prevented her lover from harming her further.

He was later taken to hospital for treatment. But Njau followed him there and tried to reach him but security officers stopped him.

“Then he came here. He was at the door and told the doorman that his wife was here with the child, so he wanted to come in but was refused,” he said.
