Rape case against young people who refuse to marry their live-in partners

A girl living in Bhopal’s Kolar area filed a rape case against her live-in partner after the young man refused to marry her and committed sexual abuse in the name of marriage.

Both were introduced through Shaadi.com, police said. After that, both of them started living in a boarding house. The accused youth resides in Morena.

The defendant continued his relationship with the girl, promising to marry her as soon as possible. After the youth refused to marry, the victim filed an FIR against him. The defendant has not been arrested yet.

SI Sangeeta Kajle said the 24-year-old victim was living on rent in Kolar area. He hails from Gadarwara and came to Bhopal three years ago to study MBA. After completing his PG degree, he started working in a private job here. He had uploaded his profile on Shaadi.com.

On this platform, she met Abhishek Upadhyay, a resident of Morena. The defendant introduced himself as a software engineer. They both started talking on the phone. A few days later, love started between the two.
