2-month-old baby dies after exposure to methamphetamine; Mother and boyfriend arrested

LAKEWOOD, Colo. (KKTV/Gray News) – A 2-month-old boy died after being exposed to the drug methamphetamine, according to Colorado law enforcement.

The Lakewood Police Department shared details of the case on social media on Thursday, announcing the arrests of the boy’s mother and her boyfriend.

Officers were called to a home in the 500 block of Vance Street on July 26 for a report of an unresponsive baby.

When the police arrived, they found the 2-month-old baby dead.

“The Jefferson County Coroner has determined that 2-month-old Ezra Johnson died of methamphetamine poisoning.” police added.

The child’s mother, 31-year-old Lisa Marie Johnson, is suspected of first-degree murder. Johnson’s boyfriend, Alexander Avila, 33, also faces the same charge.
