2 people taken to hospital after accident in Surrey

Two people were taken to hospital following a serious crash in Surrey on Friday night.

Police, paramedics and firefighters were called to the intersection of 80 Avenue and 176 Street, also known as Highway 15, shortly after 7 p.m.

Footage from the scene showed serious damage to both vehicles involved and fire crews were seen using the Jaws of Life to save one of the drivers.

BC Emergency Medical Services said three ambulances were dispatched to the area, and paramedics treated two people at the scene and took the other two to hospital.

Surrey RCMP said both drivers were taken to hospital in stable condition.

Police said alcohol was not a contributing factor in the crash while the investigation is ongoing.
