‘Please forgive me, I’m sorry for everything I’ve done’ – Nkechi’s Blessing on TAMPAN

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing on Sunday issued a public apology to the umbrella organization of Yoruba actors and filmmakers in Nigeria (TAMPAN) In May 2021, an argument with his colleague Lege Maimi on social media resulted in his suspension.

PREMIUM TIMES reported TAMPAN has suspended both actors indefinitely from Yoruba movie sets following their heated verbal exchange on Instagram after he and fellow actor Iyabo Ojo vocally criticized actor Baba Ijesha for defiling the daughter of comedian Princess.

He said: “I’m so sorry for everything I’ve done. I’m begging from the bottom of my heart that I miss the industry. You’ve all made me the person I am today. I’m celebrated all over the world because of you. Please, I’m sorry.”

In the same video, Odunlade Adekola praised him for apologizing and the chairman of TAMPAN, Mr. Latin, also accepted his apology, forgiving him and bringing a sense of resolution to the situation.

Meanwhile, Blessing defiantly renounced her relationship with TAMPAN through an Instagram video.

In his Instagram video, the actor questioned the logic behind his suspension and criticized the association.

He said: “This was shocking to me because usually in an organized event you are not supposed to send letters to anyone on social media. I didn’t join the industry through social media; This is the number one mistake they make to themselves, not me.

“You claim that I am a member of your association, but you did not call me, send me a message, or send an e-mail. You have never contacted me and you share whatever you post on Instagram without tagging me; someone else sent this to me; who is doing this?

Blessing, who has appeared in many films such as Fate of Alakada, Tanwa Savage, Breaded Life, City Hustlers and Ada Omo Daddy, added: “We all have the right to express our opinions on our platforms. How can you drive me away when I have never been a member of your association or attended your meetings?
