Storm Bert latest: Heavy rain and 65mph winds to hit UK as Met Office warns communities could be inundated by flooding | UK News

Storm Bert continues to hit the UK today after bringing winds of up to 82 mph yesterday.

The Met Office warned the storm could cause disruption across parts of south England and Wales until 9pm, and a yellow wind warning has also been issued.

A yellow warning was also issued for rain.

Here’s a look at where the alerts are.

Scotland – There is a yellow weather warning for wind in the Highlands and Eilean Siar and Strathclyde until 11.59pm.

The Met Office warned that winds of 55 to 65 mph were possible, with gusts of 70 to 75 mph possible on the most exposed coasts.

Northern Ireland – A yellow weather warning for wind was issued throughout the country until 18.00.

Winds are expected to reach 55 mph this morning.

Wales – A yellow weather warning for rain will be in place until 1pm for Blaenau Gwent, Bridgend, Caerphilly, Cardiff, Merthyr Tydfil, Monmouthshire, Neath Port Talbot, Newport, Powys, Rhondda Cynon Taf, Swansea, Torfaen and the Vale of Glamorgan.

South East – A yellow warning for wind was issued in Brighton and Hove, East Sussex, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Kent, Portsmouth, Southampton, Surrey and West Sussex until 21.00.

A yellow warning for rain has been issued for Hampshire, Oxfordshire, Portsmouth, Southampton and West Berkshire until 11.45pm.

South West – Bath, Somerset, Bournemouth, Bristol, Cornwall, Devon, Dorset, Isles of Scilly, Somerset, Plymouth, Gloucestershire, Torbay and Wiltshire will issue a yellow warning for wind until 21:00.

Large areas of the South West are also covered by a yellow rain warning.

West Midlands – There is a yellow warning for rain over Herefordshire until 11.45pm
