Notre Dame’s Superior Athletics on Full Display in Army Defeat

Notre Dame’s Superior Athletics on Full Display in Army Defeat

Notre Dame’s defense resulted in another gem

Notre Dame’s defense played fast, physical and tough in this game. Army scored a goal early in the game and did not put up another until the game was well under control. When all was said and done, the Knights put up nearly half their normal yardage output per game. Notre Dame was disciplined and well-prepared for whatever the Black Knights tried to manage.

Not only is the Notre Dame defense playing very good physical football right now, I’m also impressed with their vibe. This group plays with palpable confidence. The players look fearless right now and are extremely confident. This group peaks in late November, which is ideal.

Irish offense moving at the right time

Notre Dame’s offense has improved steadily over the middle portion of the schedule. The offensive line has settled in, the running game continues to shine, and Riley Leonard runs the offense with great ease and confidence. Even his passing game, which was difficult at times, contributed to winning this match and he is taking steps in the right direction.

Notre Dame is peaking at the right time. Now all that stands between the Irish and a playoff game in South Bend is a battle with arch-nemesis USC. It’s a battle that a very confident and physical Notre Dame team will be ready for.
