Sheriff says driver killed in Hamilton crash

HAMILTON, Ohio (WXIX) -A driver is dead following a single-vehicle crash in Butler County Sunday morning, according to Butler County Sheriff Richard Jones.

Sheriff Jones said deputies and St. Clair Fire and Emergency Services were called to North 3rd Street near the bridge over the Great Miami River around 5:50 a.m.

Sheriff Jones said the 21-year-old driver of the 2011 Mitsubishi SUV was traveling southbound on US 127 when he lost control of the vehicle and went off the right side of the road and struck a tree.

Sheriff Jones said the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is not yet known whether drugs or alcohol were involved in the accident.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
