Leesburg High School principal arrested on drunken driving charges, records show

According to Lake County Sheriff’s Office jail records, the principal of Leesburg High School was arrested on drunken driving charges over the weekend.

Records show Michael A. Randolph was booked into the Lake County Jail after his arrest around 2:30 a.m. Saturday morning. Randolph posted bail a few hours later, around 8 a.m., according to jail records.

Lake County Schools released a statement following the arrest:

The district was recently notified that Leesburg High School Principal Michael Randolph was arrested for driving under the influence. Mr. Randolph pleaded not guilty to the charges. It was stated that the incident did not occur during a school event or involve students or employees. The district takes these accusations seriously and ensures that all of its leaders adhere to high standards of personal conduct. However, Mr. Randolph has not been found guilty of the charges and the District reserves the right to pass judgment and comment further pending the outcome of the judicial process.

Randolph’s next court date is scheduled for Nov. 13.
