CHATTOGRAM, November 24, 2024 (BSS) – A court here today sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping an underage girl in the Panchliash area of ​​the city six years ago.

Judge Begum Ferdouse Ara of the Prevention of Repression against Women and Children Court-7 delivered the verdict convicting 24-year-old Mustafizur Rahman Babu from Mymensingh district.

The court also imposed a fine of one lakh on the convict, failing which he will be imprisoned for another six months.

According to the prosecution, Mustafizur raped an 11-year-old madrasa girl in Panchliash district on December 7, 2019.
Later, the victim’s father filed a rape case against three people from Panchliash thana on November 11.

While the police submitted the charge sheet to the court on December 31, the court framed the charges on November 11, 2020.

The court made the decision today after hearing eight witnesses from 11 prosecution cases.
