Atlanta police say man shot to death in Midtown, suspect charged with murder

ATLANTA, GA. (Atlanta News First) – A man has been arrested in connection with a deadly overnight shooting in Midtown.

Around 1:45 a.m. Saturday at 1150 Crescent Ave., which is home to an event center and two clubs. Fire was opened on NE. Police said officers working an extra job immediately spotted the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Ricky Hutchinson, and arrested him.

After the shooting, officers found a man with a gunshot wound in a nearby alley. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police took Hutchinson to headquarters for an interview and later charged him with murder, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during a felony.
