The Coast Guard and the Town Fire and Rescue Service were called around 4pm after a ship “suffered mechanical failure” while in the town’s inner harbour.

A spokesman said: “Both people on board have been diagnosed and no injuries have been reported.”

Onlookers feared the worst when crews were spotted at the scene.
