Police: Man stabbed in Nesconset pizzeria, suspect detained

A man was stabbed at a Nesconset pizzeria Sunday morning by an attacker who was taken into custody by Suffolk police, authorities said.

The male suspect stabbed the man at Gino’s in Nesconset on Smithtown Boulevard around 11:10 a.m., according to Suffolk County police.

The identities of the victim and attacker were not immediately released, but police said they knew each other.

Police did not provide additional details about the stabbing, including what led up to the stabbing, the relationship between the two people involved, the condition of the victim or possible charges the suspect is facing.

Suffolk police detectives are continuing to investigate.
