A family dog ​​has died and one person has been taken to hospital after a group of men broke into a property in Kaipara and violently attacked residents.

Friday’s incident in the rural community of Oruawharo, about 74 kilometers south of Whangārei, sparked a police investigation spanning the upper North Island.

Three men, aged 27, 29 and 35, were arrested in the Bay of Plenty on Sunday and were due to appear in Whakatāne District Court today on charges of aggravated robbery, committing a firearm offense and wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm. harm and intentional harm.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mike Williams, from Waitematā CIB, said police were working around the clock to identify and locate the suspects.
