In response, Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.) denied the claim Sunday’s episode of ABC News’ “This Week” has the potential to be a distraction.

“These are all allegations,” Hagerty said.

“Do not let these allegations distract us. What we need is real, significant change. The Pentagon has focused more on pronouns than lethality for the past four years. “We need to get back to work and I think Pete is the guy to do it.”
