War-hit Lebanon suspended face-to-face classes in the Beirut region on Monday

BEIRUT, Nov. 25 –– Lebanon is suspending in-person classes in the Beirut region on Monday, the education ministry announced Sunday, citing security concerns following a series of Israeli airstrikes this week.

Education Minister Abbas Halabi announced on Monday that “face-to-face education has been suspended for the safety of students, the security of education and training” in schools, technical institutes and private higher education institutions in Beirut and parts of neighboring Metn, Baabda and Shouf districts. institutions and parents in light of the current dangerous conditions”.
