Devon Hospital warns against QR parking scams

Visitors to Totnes Community Hospital are being warned to be careful after a fake QR code sticker was found on one of the site’s parking machines.

The British Parking Association (BPA) said scanning a fraudulent QR code could redirect users to fake websites designed to steal payment details.

A visitor to the hospital reported on social media that more than £140 was withdrawn from his bank account after scanning the code.

Hospital staff said the fake QR code sticker has now been removed and car parks in the area are being closely monitored.
