In the incident, which occurred towards the end of his hour-long message, Jakes lowered his microphone and visibly shuddered before being quickly helped by onstage staff.

In a statement published through FacebookThe church assured the public that Jakes’ condition was stable:

“During today’s service, Bishop TD Jakes suffered a minor medical condition and received immediate medical attention following his powerful hour-long message.

“Of course today could have been a tragic day, but it wasn’t like that; By God’s mercy and God’s grace.

“The bishop is doing well. He is recovering, he is strong, and we are doing our best to put him to rest. We really thank you for your prayers,” Robert said.

Medical expert says stroke may occur
