Watch: Allu Arjun hilariously copies Rajinikanth’s signature style at Pushpa 2 Chennai event

A lot happened at Pushpa 2’s Chennai event on Sunday. Actor Allu Arjun spoke about his Tamil roots and refused to speak in any other language other than Tamil. But one of the highlights was his impersonation of superstar Rajinikanth. The actor was there Chennai for big song launch During her interaction with the audience in Pushpa 2: The Rule, she started singing an impromptu song imitating Thalaivar.

Arjun told the audience that he was born in Chennai and completed his education in the city. He said that he was no stranger to these places and that he could speak Tamil very well. The 42-year-old actor impressed his Tamil fans by emphasizing the importance of respecting the language of the land you stand on.

When a fan asked him about his growing up days in Chennai and which films he would watch on the first day, in the first run, he portrayed Rajinikanth’s signature expression in his films. He did not use any words to answer the question and made the audience laugh with this gesture. The actor later said: “Just actions are enough to understand, right?”

Arun also spoke at length about working with the Pushpa 2 team, including director Sukumar and his co-star Rashmika Mandanna.

Saying that he owes his success to the Pushpa director, he narrated an incident: “I was sitting at home listening to the scripts, but no one was ready to make a film with me. That’s when a new director came to me. His name was Sukumar and we made a film called Arya and from then on there was no looking back, I’ve said this many times.”

Arjun said how much he misses working with Rashmika while he is currently shooting with other actresses. The actor thanked her for helping him give his best in the film. Arjun said, “I have been working with her only for the last four years. For the last four years, I have been seeing only one girl and that is Rashmika. Now when I go to work with other actresses, I become conscious and wonder why it is not Rashmika.”

Pushpa 2 song KissikThe film, which released in Chennai on Sunday, featured ‘dancing queen’ Sreeleela. Fahadh Faasil also stars in an important role in the film. The film, produced by Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings, is planned to hit the screens on December 5.
