Six Saudi citizens jailed and fined in counterfeit currency and fraud case – News

Authorities in Saudi Arabia have completed their investigation and found six citizens guilty of forgery and forgery of counterfeit currency.

They were charged with violating the criminal system for forgery and counterfeit money, as well as the Anti-Financial Fraud and Breach of Trust Act.

The investigation revealed that one of the defendants ordered fake currency amounting to 100,000 Saudi riyals from an external website. The defendants then used and promoted the counterfeit currency and committed the crime of financial fraud by seizing goods and sums resulting from its use.

The defendants were arrested and referred to the competent court. The court issued a conviction for the charges against them. The defendants were each sentenced to five years in prison and a fine of up to 50,000 Saudi riyals.




The prosecutor’s office reaffirms its efforts to protect the Saudi currency against fraud and counterfeiting and to prevent anyone from defacing or misusing the currency. The authority has taken all necessary legal measures to protect society and protect its rights in financial transactions.
