Ministry of Transport collected 35 million dinars from outstanding payments

KUWAIT CITY, November 25: Kuwait’s Ministry of Communications has successfully collected nearly 35 million Kuwaiti dinars (approximately US$106 million) in accumulated financial dues from subscribers after a three-month campaign. This marks a significant increase in collections compared to the same period last year; almost double the amount collected in the previous financial year.

In a statement issued on Monday, the ministry emphasized that the collection initiative is in line with the directives of the Council of Ministers and the instructions of Minister of State for Communications Affairs Omar Al-Omar. The aim was to develop a clear and understandable plan that would help clients keep track of their dues and pay easily without the need for additional procedures.

The Department’s debt collection strategy focused on protecting public funds by ensuring customers were regularly notified of their outstanding balances. These notifications were sent through various channels in collaboration with other government agencies to encourage timely payments for the benefit of both citizens and residents.

The Ministry of Communications praised the prompt response from many customers who acted quickly to pay their dues after receiving the notices. The Ministry called on subscribers who have not yet paid to comply with the instructions sent through the “Sahel” application and immediately pay off their outstanding balances. Failure to do so may result in automatic disconnection of services and restriction of other government actions.

Customers can pay their dues through the ministry’s website, the “Sahel” government application, or by visiting local exchanges and using the “K.Net” payment service.
