Police say man tried to hit woman with his car

SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – South Burlington police say a man has been arrested after trying to hit a stranger with his car.

Officers were called to a disturbance on Tilley Drive around 8:15 a.m. Sunday.

They said they discovered 27-year-old Nathanial Bonna tried to hit a woman walking in the area with his car after an argument. Investigators said Bonna crashed into a tree, then followed the woman on foot, pushing her as she tried to call for help and taking her cellphone.

Police said Bonna and the woman did not know each other.

Bonna faces charges including aggravated assault and robbery.

He was released on conditional release and is expected to appear in court on Monday.
