RCMP searching for car after human remains found north of Winnipeg

Manitoba RCMP are searching for a missing car linked to an investigation into human remains found north of Winnipeg.

The remains were found Thursday near a home off Highway 7 in Rockwood RM.

Mounties said following the discovery, officers with forensic identification services, search and rescue and major crime services, along with a forensic anthropology team, searched the property where the body was found.

While no further details about the remains, such as identity or cause of death, have been released, RCMP said the death is considered suspicious.

Investigators believe the car, a gray 2007 Saturn Ion with Manitoba license plate HGL 773, may have been removed from the property last month. RCMP are now asking for the public’s help in finding the missing car.
