A string of apartment complex burglaries leads to arrest of Holden man

WARRENSBURG, Mo. (KCTV) – A man is behind bars after weeks of break-ins at several apartment complexes in Warrensburg.

Johnson County, Missouri, Circuit Court Records filed Friday, Oct. 25, show Samuel M. Sneed, 35, of Holden, was charged in connection with a string of burglaries.

On October 7, Warrensburg Police Department to 411 E. North St. on a report of a theft. He said he was called to the Parkview Gardens apartments at . This was the beginning of a series of thefts that lasted about three weeks.

Law enforcement officials allege Sneed broke into the Parkview Gardens management office on Oct. 7 and took master keys to apartments around the complex. The tools and cash were also taken, causing a loss to the complex of approximately $4,000.

Multiple burglaries were reported in the coming weeks at Parkview Gardens, as well as a nearby laundromat, Spring Ridge Apartments, and a rental property. But on Oct. 17, law enforcement officials said they had identified Sneed as the suspect.

Investigators said they didn’t find Sneed until Oct. 23 during another burglary at the Spring Ridge Apartments. This time, while Sneed was arrested, his vehicle was found and secured. Johnson Co. on four counts of theft. He was taken to the Detention Center.

As of Sunday, October 27, Sneed remains behind bars on $10,000 bond. An attorney status hearing is set for Wednesday, October 39 at 1:30 p.m.
