President Droupadi Murmu on Tuesday praised the Women’s Reservation Bill passed by Parliament last year, saying it marks a new beginning in women’s empowerment.

Addressing the joint session of both Houses of Parliament at the Samvidhan Sadan Central Hall on Tuesday, on the occasion of 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution of India, Speaker Droupadi Murmu praised the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led government for introducing ‘Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam’.

Besides President Murmu, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and other leaders also attended the Constitution Day celebration event at Samvidhan Sadan.
